FLEAS! Is Your Pet Protected?

As the nights get cooler, fleas may stay on your pets longer and increase the likelihood of your pet unwittingly bringing these pesky creatures in to your home!  At Sault Ste. Marie Animal Clinic, we recommend your pet be routinely treated with a quality flea preventive until late November or early December.  A good “killing frost” is needed to effectively kill off the adult fleas outside but fleas, larvae and eggs already in your home will continue to breed and multiply unless steps are taken to break the cycle.  Many flea prevention products are combined with medications that effectively prevent and/or treat intestinal parasites and/or heartworm infections as well.

BE CAREFUL!  SOME PRODUCTS DESIGNED FOR DOGS ARE VERY TOXIC TO CATS!

Check the links below for an overview of the products we recommend for your pet.
