An Important Message From The Toronto Veterinary Emergency Clinic – Lillies Are Toxic To Cats!

As Easter approaches, The Toronto Veterinary Emergency Clinic (VEC) is asking veterinarians to warn clients about Lily Toxicity in cats – A little known but common and devastating toxin for cats and their owners.  Ingestion (by licking or chewing) even a small piece of a leaf or flower from a Lily can cause severe illness and even death from kidney failure.  Be safe – keep your cat away from any type of Lily plant!
