What is Adaptil?

Adaptil mimics the reassuring pheromones naturally produced by the mother dog shortly after puppies are born – it makes puppies feel safe and comfortable giving them the confidence to explore their surroundings.
Prior to picking up Delilah (Dr.’s Palmer new Chihuahua puppy), we purchased a baby blanket and a bottle of Adaptil spray. We spritzed the blanket with Adaptil spray about 20 minutes prior to going into the home of Delilah’s mother and father and we gently rubbed the blanket over her parents and littermates (with the owner’s permission!) to pick up some scents that were familiar. For the first while, that blanket went everywhere with Delilah – in her kennel, car rides, new environments. We ‘refreshed’ the Adaptil spray frequently as the effect lasts about 4-5 hours.
Delilah has settled in wonderfully to our home and she is a confident and happy puppy. We find the Adaptil works well to help Delilah ‘settle’ on a bed while we work – just give the bed a few spritzes, and Delilah a CET chew and she is quite content 😊

It is also available as a wall diffuser (looks like a Glade plug-in) and as a collar (looks similar to a flea collar)
