A good look in your pet’s eyes is part of every physical exam. If anything out of the ordinary is noted, we have the ability to investigate further by performing diagnositic tests such as measuring tear production and performing flurocein stains to check for ulcers and using more advanced equipment such as a panopthalmoscope and Tonopen Tonometer. The Tonopen is used to measure pressure within the eye to rule out diseases such as Uveitis and Glaucoma….both are emergency conditions affecting the eye that can result in blindness if not treated promptly and aggressively.
