What vaccinations does my dog/cat really need?

We will determine which vaccinations are appropriate and when for your dog or cat, based on individual factors, such as their lifestyle and health status. We recommend that dogs be vaccinated against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus (DHPP) and rabies and that cats be vaccinated against rhinotracheitis, calici virus, panleukopenia (FVRCP) and rabies. These are commonly referred to as “core” vaccines. Additional vaccines, such as feline leukemia virus (FeLV), Leptospirosis (lepto) and Bordetella (kennel cough), are recommended based on your cat or dog’s risk.

Many of these diseases can be fatal to your pet and some diseases such as rabies and leptospirosis can pose a threat to humans as well. Preventing them is far easier and less expensive than treatment. If you would like more information please give us a call.
