It’s tick season!!
This is an adult female deer tick (Ixodes scapularis) that a client pulled off of their dog earlier this week 
.
Ticks can carry diseases such as Lyme disease that can pose a threat to both people and pets.
We recommend that all dogs (and cats that go outside) be on a once a month tick preventive product such as Nexgard (flea and tick control), Nexgard Spectra (flea, tick, intestinal parasite control and heartworm prevention) or Nexgard Combo (for cats).
